Adaptive Recreation

Picture
In 2007 Access Anything published our second guidebook, I Can Do That, featuring 45+ adaptive sports histories, facts, adaptations, equipment, and heroes as well as includes six inspirational interviews with world-class adaptive athletes who have helped to change the face of adaptive sports including Grover Evans, Mark Wellman, and Erik Weihenmeyer.  For more about our guidebooks, view our Travel Guides page.

We have been advocates of adaptive sports and recreation since Craig's spinal cord injury in 1996.   Thanks to Craig's get-back-on-the-slopes attitude, life has always directing him towards bigger and better adventures. From hot air ballooning to wakeboarding, from camping to kayaking, from downhill mountain biking to skiing the slopes of Steamboat and beyond, we try and recreate as often as we can despite our busy schedules, and we feel that you should too. It positively affects our health, our attitudes, and our abundance to put fresh air in our lungs and to get out of the wheelchair to do something that pushes our abilities to the fullest!

See the Resources page for links to people that can help you get out or come visit STARS in the 'Boat for some outdoor adventuring!  Click on the Camps page for more on local opportunities.
